Brooke is an artist who lives and workes in Los Angeles, California. When she isn't going to school, Brooke rarely sleeps and spends most of her time painting, writing, traveling and creating illustrative journals.

"Asphyxiation has taught me the art of effusion. I am a metopolitan mermaid with a moxie to live through constant migration. My paintings are memories, marks and maps to document my salvation from arteriosclerosis caused by oxidization. My destination is to create a contagion of demiurge through apostrophe and swell above the catastrophe caused by modern day miasma. That is my bio." - Brooke Reidt

Where were you born, where did you grow up?
America.

What was your childhood like?
Ephemeral.

What are your inspirations?
Life, death and the survivors and debris of both.

You have a passion for traveling and moving around, how does that influence your art?
It conjures change. A neccessity.

Who are some of the people that you enjoy working with?
I am a fan of the word "work." I like working...maybe other people who are identically passionate about the word. More specifically? Niki Kelce, kids, carpenters and teachers.

Is there anyone that you want to work with in the future?
There's too many to name. Just one would be unreal. Sir David Attenborough.

How much to you think your experiences have shaped your work?
It is the air supply.

If there's something you could say to girls out there, something that you learned in your life that you wish someone had told you?
I'd just quote Martin Luther Kind Jr. He said, "only in the darkness can you see the stars."

Why did you decide to accept the invitation to be an Eden Advocate?
It is an honor. Succinctly? Element and I have twin ethics and ambitions.

What are your passions outside of art?
People, the ocean, education, and growing.

What are your plans for the near future, both as an artist and outside of that?
With my caprice? Nothing is concrete. In 2015 I'd like to attend the next Kumbh Mela.

Where is your favorite place in the world?
Aside from at home painting?...I haven't explored the world enough to say. I enjoy the company of family and friends and the location isn't substantial. My rooftop at any point in the day, the jellyfish room at the aquarium, school, the passenger seat of silverfish, a vinyl booth at a rest stop diner, the marker aisle of any art store, Gooski's, the Pittsburgh incline, the city museum and turtle park in St. Louis, this one ditch, hardware stores, the wave organ, the legion of doom, Dolores park, Bellingham Washington, the Pacific Ocean, outside the gas station eating chips, the American Folk art museum, public libraries, Greenway Court on a Tuesday night, Kent Street swingset, the Alfaro's house, rooftop swimming pools, bloody bamboo and candle, public gardens and transportation, bastanchury and it never ends...
